National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries in India

Bandhavgarh National Park : Bandhavgarh National Park is a small National Par,; compact, yet full of game. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India. This is also White Tiger country. Ranthambore National Park : A significant geological feature within the park is the 'Great Boundary Fault' where the Vindhaya plateau meets the Aravali range. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary : Bharatpur, which is also called the Eastern gateway of Rajasthan, was found by Maharaja Suraj mal in 1733 AD. Corbett National Park : The Corbett park is first national park of India established in the year 1936 it was named Hailey National Park. The Corbett national park covering an area of 521 Sq. Kms.... Sunderbans National Park : A world heritage site, the mangrove forests of Sunderbans spread across 4264 sq. kms of dense and wild foliage. Kaziranga National Park : Kaziranga National Park is situated on the south bank of the Brahmaputra river in Assam, India. Kaziranga National Park covers an area of approximately 430 Sq. kms. Kanha National Park : Kanha Tiger Reserve, comprising parts of the Mandla & Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh, and located in the "Maikal" hills of the Satpuras, is internationally renowned for its rich floral and faunal attributes. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary : Periyar is one of India's most picturesque reserves. A dam constructed on the Periyar river led to the submersion of a large forest area and the formation of a 55 sq km lake, which assured the local wildlife a perennial source of water. The Periyar Lake with an area of 26 sq. km. is the nucleus of the Tiger Reserve. Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary : Sariska in Rajasthan, located just 200 kms from Delhi, is one of the closest National Parks to the capital. Once of the royal reserve of the rulers of Alwar, Sariska is now part of Project Tiger.
